SESSION INFORMATION

My photography style

Each session is lead with a focus on connection, delicately collecting photographs of the larger and finer details, and curating a gallery that showcases the wholesome ambience of our time spent. I aim to provide a photoshoot that is raw, inviting and draws out the authentic moments shared.

There is no particulars. I offer my sessions exactly how I see them through my lens to tell your story. Upon booking you place your trust in my creativity to encapsulate your session and the style of photography I offer.

When should I book my newborn / maternity session?

I provide updated session dates in small blocks every 3 months to ensure I take on the right amount of clients to fill my cup. This being said I do recommend contacting me through my contact form with the specification of booking in a maternity and/or newborn session to ensure I can cater to your desired date.

I urge booking in a newborn session for when your darling is proposed to be between 4 and 10 days earthside to ensure their comfortability during the session as they will still be quite sleepy and adaptable, and we'll get to document all the finer details of your newborn's beginning life. That being said, I offer my newborn package for up to a month old.

When booking in a maternity session I try to stick to between the gestation of 30 and 36 weeks at the time of the session to limit your discomfort as your pregnancy advances and we minimise the risk of baby arriving before our session together.

What time do your sessions take place?

Outdoor sessions generally revolve around starting an hour prior to sunset/blue hour. I also offer limited sunrise sessions, purely based on weekends and subject to availability, which begin at first light and needs to be discussed when booking. Please be mindful that the timing of sessions will change year round with the fluctuation of daylight savings and changing of the seasons.

In-home sessions are flexible as long as there is ample natural lighting available, however best suited to early morning. In-home sessions are availability based so please enquire within.

When booking I send a "style & preparation" guide which helps give ideas and reassurance on following through with children and sunset sessions. Being a mother of two I understand daylight savings it may be hard for families of young children to delay bedtime, however I promise that one night is worth the late evening in order to capture the moments that mean the most to you.

What if the weather is unfavourable?

As a photographer I am always in tune with the weather leading up to and on your session date. Often a cloudy sky will make for beautiful photographs as the lighting is quite soft and easily adaptable. In the event that the weather may be unsuitable for your session (heavy winds, high tide, substantial rain, storm or extreme heat) then I will contact you to reschedule your session for an alternative suitable date. Please know, I do not move session dates for weather that is cold or overcast.

How do I book a session?

Feel most welcome to navigate to my contact page in which you'll be presented with a contact form where you can personalise your enquiry and send it my way. From there I'll promptly send you an email reply and lead you through the booking process. I require a $100 non-refundable retainer for your session within 48 hours to secure your chosen date. When booking you will also receive a questionnaire and a contract to be filled in. The remainder of your session fees are then due in full 7 days prior to your session date.

All payments are to be made via bank transfer or credit card and details are listed on your invoice. I do also offer payment plans which can be made weekly or fortnightly leading up to your session date.

When and how will I receive my photographs?

It is always heartwarming to hear your excitement of wanting to see your photographs after your session has finished and it leaves me wanting to have your gallery ready for selections as soon as possible to hear your feedback.

I try my best to offer each client a select few sneak peek photographs via your online gallery before I have finished your final collection within my 4 week timeframe, however this isn't always guaranteed. Often I will share a small curated slide/photograph on social media and tag clients unless advised prior. I feel this is a way to expressively show your images and gives me a moment to caption the feelings evoked from your session with some beautiful words - which you can also see from my blog posts.

Once your gallery is ready you'll receive an email to choose your gallery selections and put on order in for your free prints included in your session package, along with any additional product orders you may wish to make.

Where are you located & is there a travel fee?

My business is located in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. I offer free travel included in each package up to the value of 25kms in distance. Every km after this amount is charged a small fee per km in compliance to the Government of South Australia revenue allowance which will be added to your invoice when you pay your session fees. All fees are outlined in my locations look book available to you upon booking.

I have various locations around the Adelaide Metro and Regional areas that I offer my clients for my sessions which change with the seasons. I am always willing to negotiate on locations if there is a preferred place you would like your session to be held at, for as long as it aligns with my photography style.

What should we wear for photos?

Upon booking you will receive a complimentary style & preparation guide on what to wear based on the session you are booking. For families, couples and newborn sessions I will go into depth examples of outfits that can be paired, recommended places to shop and my current wardrobe selections available in my complimentary client wardrobe if you should wish to access them.

I recommend sticking to neutral colours and a variety of textures. They're easy to pair with everyone's outfits and accessories as well as your chosen environment that can be curated together to make you feel comfortable and in your 100% in your element.

I also have been generously given a 15% discount code to be used at www.mamarentals.com who is an Australian service that provides a curated selection of hire dresses for maternity and family sessions. The discount will be provided in the guide upon booking and a link to the site is listed in a clickable link below.
